About Azurine

Azurine was founded by Michelle and Roderick Murré in 2010, while living in Paris, France. After moving to San Francisco, Michelle and Roderick settled in St. Helena, the heart of Napa Valley’s Wine Country.

Michelle Murré

FOUNDER

Michelle has over 25 years’ experience in the luxury market, initiating her career in fine arts at museums and auction houses in New Orleans and San Francisco before moving to the exclusive travel world. 

Before launching Azurine Travel in 2010, she was the Vice President of Sales for Our Personal Guest, a prestigious boutique travel firm specializing in customized trips worldwide for discerning clientele. She has traveled the globe scouting the best properties, local guides and experiences for savvy clients. 

Michelle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Tulane University and a Masters in Art History from George Washington University. It was during her studies abroad in Strasbourg, France that she realized her passion for travel and on a subsequent trip to India with her mother when she decided to transform her passion into a career. Michelle enjoys discovering new wineries and restaurants, photography and spending time with her family.

Roderick Murré

FOUNDER

Roderick’s childhood was spent between Europe, the Middle East and America. He attended Eagle House boarding school in the UK, Ste Geneviève Hotel School in France and Napier Business School in Scotland, where he earned a BA degree in Hospitality and Business Management. 

He launched his career with the Walt Disney Management Program in Orlando, Florida and then moved to Dubai where he became immersed in International Sales. Roderick then relocated to London where he worked for The Dorchester Hotel, managing the Middle Eastern, Russian, South American and European markets as well as the embassies and high commissions. Desiring to work in other prominent cities, he came across the channel to Paris as Director of Sales at the iconic Hôtel de Crillon where he oversaw the US, Russian and Australian markets. Roderick enjoys playing tennis, cycling through the vineyards, and watching rugby.

Amelie & Barclay

Amelie and Barclay are the latest additions to the Azurine Family. Amelie is six and enjoys swimming, especially in hotel pools, unicorns, and Frozen. Barclay is also becoming a fixture on the California luxury hotel circuit and enjoys being a pampered pooch!
